Hi Paul,
Yes I work in the construction sector.
I’ve spent the last 7 years implementing eLearning into the company and I am now looking into increasing the use of technology for learning further. I’ve looked at Tablets and other technology, what I’ve always said is that it is not just about incorporating technology, there has to be a pedagogical reason behind it. When I analyze our classroom events they are very trainer centric and with the newest additions to the work force being all about self-directed, life-long learning our classrooms need to evolve.
This is where the behavior question comes in, I want to know how the technology’s affect behavior, I want to know what technologies can be exploited to sustain the behavior and then also to link this into business results. This change is more to do with aligning our training department with the needs of people we employee and what I know is that we have an entrenched view that everything needs to be done in a classroom, with all the technology we have, I have to ask why that is the case?
HI Stuart,
Can I assume you’re from commercial sector? It is interesting as the motivation for change in part is driven by what reward is given for good results.
Can you expand on your point about driving behaviour change? what is it that you want to change?
