Hi all- my first post on ocTEL so far… daunting! We have a CPD programme that is led by peer-to-peer sharing;. We find that if staff can learn from one another about how technology is being used, it’s more encouraging as they can see that it’s possible. I’d love to learn more about how those teachers with the belief that technology will add to their workload can still be persuaded to take the leap…

Hi Hannah. Peer-to-peer sharing can be really powerful. How do you organise that /get it to happen? Do you do it on a departmental/disciplinary level or mix people up? Is it face to face sharing or in some other (online?) format?

We have a whole mix of ways. Lots of it can be explored here- where I’ve written about some of what we do on our external blog (just started).

It’s taken us time to get people on board and maintaining momentum is tricky but we’re getting there… Slowly but surely. It’s just a real culture change for everyone- a move away from hiding away all your great ideas and resources!

That looks great. Thanks for sharing.

Passitonbloggers looks like a great idea Hannah, really contemporary and attractive. I have c couple of questions…how do you stop it from becoming too big? I’m beginning to notice that many sites are becoming really large:
              – because of the availability of quality resources/ideas
              – the ease by which resources etc… can be linked/added
              – the unstoppable enthusiasm of people to come up with new ideas about what can be added, or how the site can be made even more useful

A point is reached where it all begins to get too much, putting new users off and existing users go stale

Any comments. Would you agree or disagree in your experience over the last year?

              Cheers
              Tim
