Stumbling around the site – one minute find something that illuminates blizzard of posts (by giving some structure), the next wondering how I upload a .pdf (slides giving abstracts of research exploring linkage between attendance and achievement) – thought it may be of interest with respect to ‘debate’, discussion re badges. I’m thinking of how they might ‘reward’, encourage, promote attendance given findings above. Laugh: but it doesn’t look like you can upload .pdfs anywhere (except I guess on your own – ‘external’ to ocTEL – blog. (Anyone wants the .pdf can email me – will happily send it back.) Remembering I had a similar sort of ‘issue’ regarding sharing stuff in another context – working on a collaboration between IT academics and Microsoft on their Software Entrepreneurship Programme few years back. Then played with a wiki as a ‘solution’ – not very satisfactorily. Another laugh: I don’t suppose anyone will read this ‘post’. But, heh, it’s all about ‘play’, isn’t it? In some ways the fact this course isn’t assessed, reported, doesn’t ‘count’ towards… is sort of liberating. But hard to get my head around. ‘Cos it’s ‘public’ I guess. The ‘anonymity’ is strange but I ‘sort of’ like it. Pause. Thinks: lot of ‘stuff’ in ocTEL. ‘Ships in night’?
