Paul Rettey posted an update in the group Paul is looking for participants: Activity 0.2: Small group reflection 11 years ago
Hi Stuart, I know I responded on Twitter, but like most things I’ve reflected on my original view regards online behaviours. I’ve come to theory that online behaviours don’t change that much.
I’ll use myself as an example, as you can see I adopted one position to say that behaviours do change online, however I’ve since thought this statement through based on your questions on twitter. Deeper thinking and reflection has made me re-assess this view, it’s just that the use of social media / Web 2.0 technologies makes the behavior observable. So in a way by observing the data we find out the kinds of characters taking part online.
Again as you may have noticed, I like to get stuck in and help the setting up of the group, trying to spur the debate are all traits of my character.
In nutshell, I don’t think peoples behaviors change online as it’s a technological projection / representation of our persona’s.
And while I was putting this post together I spotted something about this: http://www.jiscinfonet.ac.uk/tools/personas/
