Yes, thanks, Rose, for the links. I’ll try to make time to take a look. So, if the formative feedback is dialogic along the way, anonymous marking for summative / contributory assignments might not be such a bad thing?

Aha! Apologies for talking to myself again, but I think I know why Helen is unable to see the comments she’d like to respond to. If you are not logged into the ocTEL site, you can see posts, but not comments.

I _think_ that the most recent activity / posts go to the top, so a thread might not be where you’d expect it, if there are recent comments which will have bumped it to the top rather than it appearing chronologically.

I like the idea of a supportive review of an online module. This could be the basis of a case study / showcase. It’d be great if there were more time for peer review and sharing, even within course teams, never mind faculties or cross-faculty. I’d also like us to build up and share more examples of simple things which can make a difference both to…[Read more]

Goodness, how to communicate and market ourselves is still a work in progress. Currently, it’s more than a little ad hoc, I would say. Let’s see, there are some deliberate things. We usually have a stand at lunchtime at the annual Learning and Teaching Conference. Each faculty has a Blended Learning Co-ordinator – someone who has hours assigned to…[Read more]

I’m still liking ‘matchmaker’ a week later. I find that we have regular contact with those who are already enthusiastic, but I’m wondering about how to reach those who are less enthusiastic more than we do currently, so that we can get to know their needs, contexts and potentially pair them up or help them move on, should they wish.

Thanks, Flea. Although it’s been said there’s no being ‘behind’ on ocTEL, I’m so behind that I haven’t even started last week’s activities. However, this is one of my big questions, so I’m glad to find others thinking about the same topic.

We have the same scenario you describe, where some areas have a local learning technologist, others don’t. Although I’m part of a central team, we have one person assigned to each faculty. Although any of us will help any lecturer who contacts us (by email or phone or via the Service Desk portal), we tend to run sessions for our own faculty and so…[Read more]
