We created an online version of a course to meet demand for additional enrollments. The thought process went something like this: “We need several more sections of this course, but then we’ll have to hire additional instructors or pay overloads. Let’s create an online section and then we’ll only have to add one course.”

@Rose-Due to limitations from our uni re: scheduling, enrolling, and awarding credit, students have 7 weeks in which to complete the 5 days of the class. In practice, we have found that the students tend to wait until near the end of the 7 week term to start it (shocking, right?) and then proceed through it in 7 days or less.
